The KD chapter on the campus I'm on now doesn't recognize the teddy bear at all.
So, this is one of those teaser questions - I really don't have an answer!

Oh! Okay. Well, then I'd have to say that we've only had
two mascots: katydid and teddy bear. The katydid has been around for ages and was the only mascot back in the dark ages when I was a collegian. So, personally, I don't recognize the teddy bear. lol It's funny that your current campus has rejected it too. Is there an Alpha Phi chapter on campus? If so, that might be why. The teddy bear really is their mascot and I believe it has been for a very long time. It's right that it belongs to them because it fits within their symbols (Ursa Major). Since it was introduced as a KD symbol, I've always felt that it was a rip off of Alpha Phi.
Anyway, the others that kdizzy mentioned (dagger and nautilus shell) are our symbols not mascots.
I was trying not to hog the answer earlier and now I've more than hogged it. Sorry!
