The ex-boyfriend of one of my roommates in college only got about halfway through the pledge semester before being asked to leave his pledge class. It may have been for the "quoted" reasons above, or maybe those are just the qualities I personally thought he had.
He honestly wouldn't have been a good fit in that chapter, and I think generally the fraternities know what and how many they are looking for.
