Right. I mentioned that a few posts earlier. But, the speech to a joint session of Congress (which can only be at Congress's invitation) by a new president is essentially a State of the Union equivalent. For all intents and purposes, it is treated like a State of the Union, even if it isn't called one. (Prior to 1989, it
was called a State of the Union Address.)
