It's too late for snowmobiles, and two early for jetskis and motorcycles, so I would imagine all people are buying for small recreational vehicles right now would be four wheelers, though.
Here I think people use them to get stuff to and from deer stands on property where you aren't going to drive in a truck. But I have no first hand experience. They seems to be mainly owned by hunters, but I doubt they hunt from them or anything.

I also think people ride them just for fun.
