Lots of movement and color always draw attention. How 'bout making some tissue paper pom poms in your chapter colors? Cut the tissue into strips 16" long/1" wide. Fold them in half and tie them with a twist tie or pipe cleaner in the middle. Fasten them to a 12" stick (wooden sticks and tissue paper found at most craft stores).
The party supply store by my house actually carries premade tissue and plastic poms in an asosrtment of colors for like $1 each!
