I usually make her wear a jaunty kerchief around her neck because it makes her look less like a poor, unloved stray. Typically she wears yellow or red.
She loves wearing them (as evidenced by her frantic tail wagging when I show her a kerchief) but maybe that's because right after tying it on, I praise the living daylights out of her ("Who's a pretty girl? YOU ARE!!") and now she associates the two.
