I know that some larger chapters do sisterhoods by class so that the entire chapter doesn't end up attending every single event. It also makes for a smaller group so that girls can get to know each other.
For example, they might do Sophomore & Freshmen Bowling Night or Junior & Senior Mocktail Party.
