APhiBee:
First welcome to Greek Chat. I hope you will visit and post often. It is always nice to have other Phis on the boards.
Secondly, you asked about affiliation. Usually what happens is this. Once you have transferred to a school with an Alpha Phi chapter, you will get in touch with the chapter at your new campus and tell them you are an Alpha Phi from the University of North Texas. If they have room for another member, they will probably invite you to attend functions for a semester to see if you like the new chapter and vice versa.
Alpha Phi International states that an unaffiliated collegiate member, having transferred to another campus that has an Alpha Phi chapter, always receives the second chapter's hospitality and social invitations if the member has been appropriately recommended by her original chapter.
There is more information on this in the Alpha Phi Collegiate Chapter Operations Manual. You should check it out. Then, once you have made your decision, ask for a recommendation from the UNT Alpha Phis and get in touch with the President of the Alpha Phi chapter on your new campus.
As a Texas Tech advisor, I suggest you look into Texas Tech University. It's a great school and we have a great chapter. Of course, I am a little biased.
Finally, enjoy your time at UNT. I have heard they have a great chapter as well.
Hope that info helps!
AOE,
Jen
