At LSU, theDGs do all kinds of things. During Homecoming Week, both parents were invited to the house. They had light food, punch etc. We could watch the parade from the house. They had Christmas decorating where the Moms and the alum assoc. helped out, Founders Day/awards luncheon and parents could attend, but I chose to skip this one. They had Dad's Day which was a cookout and timed to coincide with a baseball game. The Jazz Luncheon was a couple weeks back and that was teriffic. The 20th is their ball, the new members parents attend as the father presents his daughter. (All of the sororities on campus have this) Later a Dad's work day is planned to help with the upkeep of the house. Very, very open to parents compared to sororities at U of Houston in the early 70's. Nothing involved the parents. At UTx we (AXO) had more parent activities. La. Tech AXO has a picnic- perhaps more that I am unaware of.
