People don't know why he was there and they didn't wait for an explanation before they celebrated the shoe incident. Why he was there and the shoe incident are two separate issues, unless we're a) hypothesizing that the SS was unprepared for this trip and therefore unprepared to fight off shoe wielding reporters and b) saying that the POTUS is to blame for whatever harm they are placed in--even if they are in a room filled with reporters. The latter is a dangerous argument to make.
