So you could very well have the social aspects that you want, and still preserve and celebrate your culture.

I'm sure this wasn't your intention, but just to clarify: Joining a Latino/NALFO organization shouldn't be seen as a "fall back" plan or "the next best thing" if you don't get into an NPHC organization. An individual can celebrate his culture regardless of what organization he is a part of. Whatever organization the OP decides to pursue, I just hope he's done his research first.
