Oh jeez...
I've been interviewing for residency positions for next year - going into pediatrics. The way in which they pair soon-to-be residents with hospital programs is identical to sorority recruitment, what with the rank lists from applicant and program that's all sorted out by a computer. Pretty easy to say that this is the most travel intense year of my life. Overall though, the 4th year of med school is pretty sweet.
Places (other than Omaha) I've been since November 7th...
Lincoln (football game)
Kansas City (Thanksgiving/travel stops)
Chicago (only O'hare though)
Los Angeles (had to take a national clinical skills examination)
Denver (airport x 4)
Las Vegas (airport x 1)
Little Rock, Arkansas (interview, drove from KC)
Oklahoma City, OK (interview, drove from Little Rock)
Salt Lake City, UT (interview)
Tucson, Arizona (interview)
Heading to Dallas this coming week for another interview on Friday (flying through St. Louis)
It only gets crazier after the first of the year with 7 interviews scheduled over the course of 12 days...
