It too wear the pierced badge pendant and bought it when BPA introduced it at a Convention back in the mid-1990's. I couldn't get my Honor to wrap around the thickness of the pendant and asked BPA what was wrong. They said they weren't able to make the pendant skinny enough to attach an Honor or a Chapter Guard because the whole thing would then easily be bent. They recommended that I send it and my badge to them and they'd grind a small indentation so my Honor would fit (free of charge). Nervously I mailed it to them and it came back very quickly and they did a great job!
