I'm hoping that the criticism won't be as bitter and personal as it was with Bush and Clinton, but I think it's important to recognize that not all of Obama's projected policies as expressed are good or realistic ones. Apparently the campaign realizes it too as the community service plan goes from required to voluntary, etc, and whatever else the right-y blogs are mentioning today.

It does seem a little childish to assume that people who opposed Obama's political ideas should all get on board because he won. People should probably ask themselves if they feel that way about the outcomes of the 2000 and 2004 elections. If you told yourself anything other than "well, Bush is the President now, we need to get behind all of his policies," it seems ridiculous to expect people do to it for Obama. 6% doesn't seem like a mandate to me.

ETA: I see this was previously covered nicely by Dr.Phil (DSTChaos? Queen of Sheba) and others on the last page.
