Very true. I know that people think "What? Why don't they just tell someone!?" but that's honestly not all to the story. Yes it seems outlandish that one would keep this kind of thing quiet, but that is how they have grown up.
I totally understand where you are coming from, BabyPink. I, due to my parents, live in a better part of Chicago where I could walk down the block and talk to my alderman if I wanted to. But if I go visit my friends in Hyde Park (outside of U of Chicago), I keep walking if I see something up. Sorry, but I am not putting myself at risk. Risk here being greater than just getting mugged.
