Young man killed in fiery solo-vehicle crash in Oakland identified

A 21-year-old man who died when his vehicle drove off Interstate 880 in Oakland and caught fire Sunday morning has been identified as Elgin Henderson III, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
Henderson, a Hayward resident, was driving south on the highway just north of Broadway around 5:20 a.m. when the vehicle veered off the highway and onto the Seventh Street undercrossing, California Highway Patrol Officer Ralph Caggiano said.
The crash remains under investigation.
