Hey Corina,
Many fraternity members consider it an insult to be called "frat" boys or "frat" members. It is viewed as a negative term that brings to mind Animal House and the immaturity depicted in it.
Hope this clarifies a little for you. (Quite honestly, we always called them "frat guys" when I was in school, and no one seemed to mind. However, times have changed and I can understand the negative connotation that sometimes comes with the word.)
