Although our soror, Hattie McDaniel was the first woman to win an academy award, she was also the first African-American to win the Oscar, period. While I am happy that the academy gave Halle Berry and Denzel Washington leading role awards, I just feel that Cicely Tyson, Diahnn Carroll, Whoopi Goldberg, Dorothy Dandridge and Angela Bassett should have one, too.

Not to knock Halle, but there is no person in the world who can look me in the eye and say Whoopi didn't earn that award for The Color Purple without being on crack!!! You just can't!!!
