After talking to different people to try to understand this comment I am assuming that what he meant by the height difference is that the more developed the nation is and the better off the people are the taller they are on average and S.Koreans are 3 inches taller than N.Koreans so N.Korea is therefore greatly oppressive. This is a huge streach for me. Considering the fact that the question was: "Senator McCain, what is your reading on the threat of Iran right now to the security of the United States?" this really made NO sense.

The height difference many be true but it most likely is not related to the regime change which only happened after WWII. Evolutionary changes take time to develop; something so dramatic is not llikey to have happened in the short span of 2 generations.

If anyone has some research or background on this phenomenon, I would love to hear it.
