I don't think Ryan should give up that quickly. I remember the 2nd half of my freshman year- I moved into the sorority stairwell and they moved me in with 3 seniors and a pledge sister who went home every weekend.
The seniors partied all the time and I wondered what I had gotten myself into but knew I never ever wanted to give up on my sorority.
Come sophmore year- I moved in with all sophmores and freshmen and was the happiest person ever!
Ryan should not let a few members ruin his whole experience with SAE. Also- you gotta remember- he stopped drinking during THE BIGGEST PARTY WEEK of SAE's tradition at his school. We all admired him for that but I can see a bunch of 18-21 year old brothers being like- man- hang with us, party with us- this is OUR CELEBRATION WEEK. And if you don't hang out with your brothers- they will take it to heart. I'm def. not saying- drink to belong or drink to make your brothers happy but you have got to hang out with them and give them a chance. That is a big part of being greek- you are going to meet thousands of people in your life and you are not going to get along with all of them. Your boss may turn out to be a real jerk but you can't quit your job because of it- you gotta deal with it and the fraternity is going to teach you to have tolerance with the guy who borrows your hair gel all the time!
Ryan- if you read this - give it to next Fall to decide. I bet a new set of roommates will help you a lot.
