Ex Greek, I have to disagree. Coaches can make a tremendous difference in the performance of a team. All of the players wanted Davis to be their coach. The best example of the impact of coaches that I can think of is the Lombardi-era Packers. The biggest part of those great players were on the team before Lombardi became coach, and they did nothing. They had one of the worst records in team history...then once Lombardi became coach, they never had a losing record and they won three world championships. Of course, I'm not saying that talented players don't make an impact, but coaching does make a big difference.
