I've been supporting my daughter all through her recruitment. Thank heaven for this web site. I've talked her through her entire experience - here it is in a nutshell

I'll name the houses:
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, brown, black, white, gray
(colors have NOTHING to do with sorority colors)

Day 1-2 open house - she went to all 11 houses on campus. Very overwhelmed. Liked orange, red, yellow, blue

Day 3-4 First rounds - some girls in red remembered her - felt hopful still liked them best. Had a difficult time at indigo. She felt very out of place and ignored. She ranked the houses:
orange, red, blue, yellow, black, gray, white, green, brown, violet, brown

Day 5-6 second rounds: Girls could be invited back to a max of 6 houses. My daughter was upset - she only got 4 bids back. (personally I thought that was great - other gilrs in her group got 6 but some only 2)
Here's the bids she got:
violet, white, gray, black
her ranking: black, white, gray, violet

Perf night! - Nervous all day- seriously thought she wouldn't get any bids. Lo and behold she got three!
bid from: white, black, violet (thrilled to get a bid from black -fave right now, white - really likes, violet - not sure says girls are nice she'll see how tonight goes)

So that's the story for now. Tommrow is bid day. I'm pulling for black or white. (Although I truly believe violet really, really likes her)

fingers are crossed! Her school does have quota additons so I'm hopful that she won't get "the call"
One of my favorite recruitment stories. Gets to the point!
