It's as if FB is trying to incorporate MySpace elements... just like MySpace incorporated some FB elements like the different apps, the "Jojapeach is..." statements, etc. Why copy the visual format from a website that's mimicking your site?
ETA: I was hoping the new FB stayed disabled, but it's up and running for me. I left feedback similar to my above comments. I LOATHE the new FB look.
