They see both if available. They only get the GPA. As far as I know from being an advisor they dont look at actual transcripts and what grades you got in what classes. Chapters usually have a higher GPA requirement than the minimum required to rush and/or pledge a woman. High school GPA requirements are typically higher than those who are coming through with college GPA's already. PNM's should realize that if their GPA is at minimum or just above, that chances of pledging are low. With only few exceptions, chapters in general will not take grade risks. We dont take grade risks because the chapter GPA determines good standing with our HQ, campus panhellenic, and ability to participate in activities/intramurals.
We had one girl come through this year with a 1.9 GPA and was transferring in. She was the only one that was dropped from every chapter after open house. With that GPA she really shouldnt have been able to sign up.
