My pledge class did not sell trash bags....but I think most of the freshman just sold them to family friends and relatives. A lot of them even bought extras and then went out into the surrounding neighborhoods door to door. Supposedly they had a pretty good response.

One of the things my pledge class did was this credit card program...however I dont recommend it. It entailed us going out and getting people to sign up for the card...then giving them a free gift like a phone card. But for all of our efforts, I don't think it generated much profit.

My chapter is currently looking into a fund raiser with our alumni. We recently replaced our entire dining room chair set and we are trying to come up with a way to sell/auction the old chairs to our alumni. Like they would donate the money and we would give them a chair with a plaque on it or have a plaque put on one of the new chairs. I guess this probably wouldnt apply to you though.

If I come up with anything else I will let you know.
