Thumbs up

AXO Alum, I'm a upcoming senior at the University of Tennessee, and last semester we were able to hear "Kristin's Story" on campus. The tri-delts and axo's put it together, and did tons of publicity for it. Our chapter made it an EXCEL program which we all went to immediately after meeting. The stadium was packed with greeks, and many non-greeks as well. The coolest part is that many of the fraternities came to panhellenic, since we don't have houses, and escorted the women from different chapters to the stadium. I was personally extremely impressed that so many greeks came out to show that we're not a bunch of beer guzzling partiers, but that we actually care about issues. Being a victim of acquaintence rape myself just 2 short years ago, this was a very good step in my healing process. I just felt a kind of peace when I started crying during the presentation and all of my sisters reached for my hand and offered condolences and comfort...along with another sorority behind me, which was a bit embarrassing, but very sweet as well. I'm a big supporter of "Kristin's Story" and I really admire Kristin's mother for being able to muster up the courage time and time again to speak about her daughter's suicide and rape in order to inform others of this danger. KUDOS Tri-Delt and Alpha Chi!!!
