Re: HOVE IS A GROWN ___ MAN

Chile we are talking about Nas vs. Jay Z, not the war in Afghanistan. This is possibly the most lightheartened debate we've had on GC in a minute. Besides, deez jes joke

Yeah, I know you were comparing Rakim and Nas on a stretch, but you were doing so because you acknowledge that Rakim is the originator of the flow that dudes like Nas and Mobb Deep are using.
I didn't think Jigga was referring to women when he spoke of "vultures," I thought he was speaking of the shady music industry.
You are definitely right about the whole dissing women thing, almost all rappers do it...but I don't buy it...I just criticize it in threads such as this I still say that folks are giving Jay Z too much props, of course commercial sells, that's why I'm not mad at him. But, you're acknowledging that there's no difference b/w him and the hungry cats that have been holding down the underground scene and/or can't seem to make it----my point exactly, it's not that Jay Z's so great, it's the fact that he's made it. Again, YOUR MIC IS ON BOBBY EARL, and I'm not mad at Jay Z for making it...I'm just skeptical of the whole "we run this hip hop game" thing.
Now, by NO MEANS is Nas in charge, either...but's it's the equivalent of the cashier and the burger flipper arguiing over who's the most valuable---until one of ya'll really becomes the manager or owns your own franchise hush it up. Yeah, yeah, I know about Roc A Fella and all, but he's not owning anything yet.

I compared NAS to RAKIM because I see similiarity in their style. However, RAKIM knew how to get an MC's foot off his neck. So I guess you are right, RAKIM is the undisputed champion.

LAST TIME I CHECKED, commercials sell. There are Kats on the streets who can freestyle with the best of them. There are Kats on the streets that can hoop with the best of them. But people don't wanna hear or see those Kats, they wanna hear this COMMERCIAL flow that you speak of. Yes, HOVE disrespects women. WHAT, NAS DOESN'T? They are both wrong for doing it. Nevertheless, there are women out there who are out to stick rappers for their bread. Hence the phrase, "Let me show you how to walk into a room full of vultures." And even though all women are not like that, that doesn't mean you can't address the ones who are. I do agree that JIGGA should start addressing the ones who are not vultures as well. (Can't see um comin down my eyes, so I gotta let this song cry). I never heard JIGGA say that he treats ALL women like that. Second, yes I chose the RENEGADE song because Jigga's flow is tight. I see a lot of genius in it. True, Eminem was nicer on that song.. so what. NAS was garbage on the uchiwali (spelling) song. Forest Gump could have flowed better than that. His body guard protects people for a living and he was better than the TEN YEAR VETERAN. Who cares if you rap for ten years, if you are puttin out weak sh_ every 5 years. Matter of fact, how can you see that there are no tight verses on the blueprint? Here is the big picture. Last time I checked NAS does not have a RECORD COMPANY. JIGGA owns the blueprint to BLUEPRINT. That is what matters. I guess that's why JIGGA told NAS to "Go play somewhere!"

CHAOSDST please don't take what I said personal. I haven't posted in a minute. Last time I checked, people are awfully sensitive in this camp, so I don't intentionally wanna get anyone upset. It's just a discussion... aight? I don't want CHAOS up in here .

Hello to you too, by the way.
