Cricket wouldn't really be possible to pull off in the short 16 days of the Olympics, unless they found a way to "cap' the length of a match. A single cricket match could potentially run extremely long (i.e. 1-3 DAYS!!!).
Rugby would be great.
Not sure how surfing could work...not every city is on the ocean...would they build a wave machine?
As for Olympic doping (the title of this thread), Eric Lamaze had previously tested positive for cocaine, fought and overcame 2 lifetime bans, and came back to win 1 of Canada's 3 gold medals. Forgiveness is golden, I guess.
