I can't imagine what your premiums must be.
It's been pretty bad for the past 5 years! Honestly, it's the biggest bill I pay each month besides the mortgage!!!

I was feeling so good too, insurances wise, because we turned the title of the oldest's car over to him. He registered it in Florida and got his own policy. By taking him and his car off of ours, we took a huge chunk off our premium. We were coming out ahead by a bunch, even after adding the 16 year old. But, now, when it renews in October, I'm expecting a huge hit.

There goes the "accident free" discount!!

Interesting fact, the insurance for my oldest son's car, a 2002 Lexus IS300, went from around $2400 a year in Harris County, Texas (Houston), to around $1100.00 a year in Gainesville, Florida. I guess because of the number of cars in Houston, and the car theft/collision statistics, the rates are MUCH higher.

maybe it's time to consider full coverage
That "kid car" isn't worth collision/comprehensive. We bought it used 5 years ago, it's been through my other two boys, and is a bit worse for the wear. After the little fender bender a couple of weeks ago, we told the youngest that he better be more careful because if he wrecks it, he'll be biking til he graduates

Thanks for the well wishes! I needed them
