I don't know the politics on that campus, but on my own, the Zetas and Omegas had the "Dogs Chase the Cats" party. We were really cool with the Omegas, so it made sense to have a fundraiser together. We also did stuff with Phi Beta Sigma, which fortunately had the most party "draw" on campus anyway. But if the Alphas, Kappas or Iotas had been interested and had draw...bring it on. I think I recall that the Sigmas on another campus had a party with the Sigma Gamma Rhos. There were some bit of conversation on it, but no big deal.
It's a little odder to find fraternities holding events together (no one on my campus ever did THAT), but I do recall two Sororities (maybe AKA and someone) had a service event together. From a $ perspective, I guess two fraternities holding a party makes good sense, as each frat has its own set of "groupies", so double the $, but it is a bit weird though.
