The term disaffiliate isn't depledging or resigning memebership, rather its more along the lines of not acknowledging, by yourself or your sisters, your memebership. This would include things like planning rush, wearing greek paraphinalia, living in the house. I'm not sure how far it goes with relations to attending meetings and events.
As a Rho Chi, you will be assisting potential greeks with an important desision in their lives. For them to know which sisterhood you are affiliated with, or a Rho Chi to bias her advice with affiliation or personal opinions on another house, would taint the young-soon-to-be greek's opinons of their prefs.
While most of what I know about Rho Chi's have been due to reading. Most post very positive experiences. This includes getting to know and learn more about other sisterhoods on campus. But I think all in all many happy when Rush is complete and they are able to don their letters again.
