The Ananda Show was a mess. But the first thing I said was at least they were honest. I really don't like shows like that because nothing ever pertinent gets across. You could tell that the white guests were truly not willing to open their eyes and represent the most negative aspects of human beings. I thought it was very 'niggerish' of that woman to sit at this woman's table and eat her food and make such a nasty comment. That was down right trashy. I also thought that Ananda could have used a bit more objectivity in her attitude. You can tell that she is not as polished as Oprah Winfrey for example and has a ways to go. I did like the fact that she made her audience like a round table discussion and that she had decent 'expert' guests.
I also appreciated the fact that the black gentleman was much more open and left with a more positive outlook and understanding. I understand where he was coming from because being from Bed-Stuy I have encountered the Arab owned bodegas where the food is outdated and the owners were sometimes unfriendly and have tried to hit on me and/or my friends but I understand that they don't represent the majority of Muslims. The worse thing I find is that we are prejudiced against our own. I say our own because contrary to what anyone says Egypt is in Africa and if I remember correctly the Middle East is a part of Africa. Anyhoo, that's all I have to say for now....
