I agree that the guys were better than the girls last night, but, y'all, I want so much to get behind these kids, but I just don't love any of them...
In year's past, I was a Danny/Lacy fan, then before that a Benjy/Travis fan, but none of these guys/gals reach out to me!
I know, I'm such a nerd!!! I just haven't been moved enough to pick up the phone once.
As for the nutcracker routine, the athleticism was AMAZING! The vertical leap was insane, BUT (as Uncle Nigel says
) they don't "finish" the moves. Having been a ballet freak for years, I have seen the nutcracker umpteen times and I couldn't get over the lack of pointed toes and ending the leaps in an open position. I know it is so not fair to expect hip hop guys to perform at the level of male ballet dancers - maybe it would have helped for me if they didn't use the actual music from the nutcracker, then it wouldn't have distracted me so much. (end of rant)
But, I did LOVE the mia number at the end when all 4 danced. Although they don't have the "technical" abilities of a ballet company dancers, the "feel" of the dance was something I would see professionally done, and I think they did a pretty darn good job with it.
