The Jets were in the playoffs in 2006, but the Vikings weren't; I'm not sure which team you were referring to in your post.
The Vikings are going to be pretty good next year anyway, and an upgrade to Pennington from Tavaris wouldn't hurt. The running game is very good, and while Peterson is pretty sick, a large part of it is a function of the offensive line (Chester Taylor was over 5 yards per carry when he played).
Favre was the best quarterback on the Packers roster, and they're probably a .500 team at best this year. Hopefully the Green Bay fans aren't too tough on Rodgers, because he's been put in one heck of a position, especially if Favre puts up good numbers with the Jets.
