Re: the Aidan, Caden, Braden stuff, if you check out little boy names for 2007, here's the tops:

1. Aidan
2. Braden
3. Kaden

4. Ethan
5. Caleb
6. Noah
7. Jaden

In 2006 those names were actually 1-4.

Aidan has been on top for a few years... Hayden was in the top 15 for a while also.

For girls, Jadyn is at #43. Cadence is also in the top 50 for girls and was in the top 10 a few years back.

Here's my source for that. That website is pretty good because it compiles alternate spellings (Kaden/Caden, etc.) If you look at the raw Social Security statistics, they rank every spelling, so it underestimates names like the "adens" that have multiple spellings.

One of my colleagues is about to have a baby in September and insists on naming him Aidan. I just don't get it - even if you love the name, why give your kid a name that will not be unique whatsoever?

On another note, for boys in 2007, Jackson/Jaxon was at #11. Jaxon?? Really?? Every time I see Jaxon, I think of this. I know that doesn't ring a bell for most people, but Jaxxon is one of the most notoriously ridiculous sci fi comic character of the last 20 years... yeah...

At least Madison is finally dying a slow and painful death. I have a HS friend with a girl named Madison, who is adorable... but again... overused.
