Just as an aside, Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens is an Psi U alum from the University of Chicago chapter, where Psi U is alive and well. He goes back for reunion when he's not busy deciding cases for our nation. It's nice he still has ties to his college and fraternity
I hope after this housecleaning, Psi U will find its way back to Cornell someday. What a shame.
I don't know the backstory on the Cornell situation, but I do know that such a decision wouldn't be reached lightly by the alum bd. DH is a graduate board member for his GLO and after hearing what those kids do to abuse these houses and the rules, despite repeated alumni forgiveness, fundraising, rehabbing, and corp bd support, it's a wonder that this kind of thing doesn't happen more often. It astounds me that people would never treat the home their parents raised them in this way, but they think because it's a fraternity house, they have no respect or responsibility to take care of it as their own. Then they come back 10 years later and moan about what a pit it is.
