I think I know what D-Ception is talking about. The thing that initially threw me was the "Dog" part. As most know, the "Dog" symobolism is traditionally used by the Ques. The "Egytptian" part sounds more familiar to Alpha.

The sign, I believe you are talking about, which is "similar" to one used by the zetas is actually called the:

EURAYIS (Spelling may vary)

The eurayis is the SNAKE symoblizing the 3rd Eye or Pineal Gland.
It is shown on the crown of many egyptian pharoahs and sphinxes. Look at the King Tut or Sphinx head.

Many Bros used this sign in steps or step shows, and RARELY throw it up when taking flics or posing. It is done similarly to the Ques hook, except your hand is curved infront of your face (not to the sides) and your tricep and hand is parallel to the ground. It looks like the Eurayis(snake) on top of the pharoahs headdress/crown. I've seen the zetas do a "similar" sign except they have their arms and hands facing the side instead of infront of their face and their arms aren't elevated like the Ques. It symoblizes a "Z" rather than a eurayis/snake.

All three signs are "similar" but different enough not to step on anyones toes. Who knows who came up with what 1st .

Don't get it twisted though, there is NOTHING associated with DOG about ALPHA...our symobols are EGYPTIAN.
