My older half-brother and I were raised separately. I was raised by my mom alone, he was raised by both of his parents. Last year, I was visiting a website for a grad chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha in Baltimore. Scrolling through the names of the members, I saw the name of my brother, middle initial and all. I called the chapter president, who I'm friendly with, and he pretty much confirmed that this guy was who I thought it was.
Long story short, I connected with my brother after 28 years because we both pledged alumni chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha. And he is a very nice guy.
