Smile Nader Discusses Obama

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...ite/#more-8159

(CNN) — Ralph Nader's presidential candidacy has received little media attention, but his latest critique of Barack Obama has come under fire for it's seemingly racial overtones

I completely understand and agree with Nader to a great extent.

However, there is always a method. As a white man, sure Nader can tell Obama to be more overt with his intentions toward the racialized structure and addressing the issues that certain groups of people disproportionately face. So the half of me that comes from the DuBoisian school of thought agrees with Nader. But, the other half of me is from the Booker T. Washington school of thought (really the Douglass school of thought, if you take the "black jokes in front of white audiences" aspect out of it) in that you are nonthreatening so you can get what you need to get to accomplish your goal.

The irony is that Nader's comments may serve to increase whites' skepticism over Obama and other black candidates. If that isn't what Nader intended to do, he is unintentionally playing on typical race sentiments.

What say you?
