1. Did you decide upon your organization of choice PRIOR to visiting GC?
Although I am not currently actively pursuing membership (I am busy focusing on building myself up and involved in other things), I did decide upon my interest in ABC org.
before I found GC...However, I must admit that quite a few things I observe on GC have openeded my eyes more in terms of some of the ongoings of Greeklife (from an outsider's perspective, of course
)...
2. Would you let the views or beliefs of one sway your interest to another organization?
No. As long as the views of the organization as a whole were in line with my own beliefs, then there would not be a problem. Every person is an individual--it's our differences that make us unique and make the world interesting.
3. Would you let the tactics of another (member or non-member) sway your decision to become a member of an organization you really had no interest in?
Heck, naw!!!! I do what
I WANT TO DO,
which is ultimately what the Lord compells me to do...I DO NOT follow others!!!
...This is a personal decision that
only YOU can make for yourself (after much research and consideration, of course)...Anybody that does become swayed to become a member of an org they have no interest in obviously wasn't genuinely interested in their first choice org in the first place (or, they were interested for the wrong reasons
)...
4. Do you think that you would be offended if someone came to you so that you could become a member of their organization when you have clearly decided that you want to become a member of another organization?
No, esp. not if they didn't know of my interest in ABC and I know that they have good intentions. I would take it as a compliment but reply that although I am flattered, I am not interested in pursuing membership XYZ.
5. What does the notion that someone would try to deliberately sway your intent say about that person?
Depends on the circumstances of and who is attempting to do the "swaying"...If it is a member of XYZ, it says that they believe I possess characteristics that are desirable to that org, and that they think that I would be an asset to the org (this is assuming they have good intentions and do not know of my interest in ABC)...If they do know of my interest in ABC and continue to attempt to "sway" me to XYZ--then it says
that particular member of XYZ (not the entire org) lacks intergrity...If it is a member of the org I am interested in, then again, I would also take it as a compliment...
HOWEVER, as I stated earlier a decision of this caliber is one that should be made based on what one truly feels in their heart--NOT on what another person wants them to do, b/c it is YOU that has to live with the choice you have made...
THEREFORE, the members of both ABC and XYZ would have to understand that I will have to make this choice for myself...Now, on the
OTHERHAND, if any member of any org continuously tries to sway me any way, then that says that the person thinks they can persuade people to do whatever they want them to do & that they don't respect that I am intelligent enough to make my own decisions...Don't get me wrong: I value and appreciate any assistance that is given to me, but ultimately I make my own decisons...
AS FOR non-members of greek orgs, they have no say-so in regards to my interest in ABC...B/c as I stated earlier I do what I want to do...
6. Would you find fault with the organization as a whole or only the person?
No...The fault is with the individual member of the org...NOT the entire org as a whole...Every org has a few rotten apples, but that doesn't spoil the entire bunch (esp. when that "bunch" is thousands of thousands!!!)...
7. What does that say, if anything about the person who tries to get you to follow her into her organization when that isn't really what you want to do?
That person lacks integrity and thinks that they can get me to do whatever they want me to do and doesn't respect my own intelligence...And that they are in for a rude awakening b/c I ain't going out like that (as Theo from the "Real World" says,
"I ain't no punk!")!!!
8. Ultimately, what kind of person would you be to succumb and follow when you know that isn't what you want to do?
A weak a%$ punk!!!
...A follower...An individual that has no integrity...A person that doesn't have a mind of their own and that lives their life for other people instead of for themself...A person that SERIOUSLY needs to evaluate WHY they are interested in becoming a member of a BGLO in the first place...
9. Could you look yourself in the mirror?
Nope...But I'd be tempted, being that I am such a beautiful, gorgeous woman!!!
10. What does that say (if it says anything) about your integrity?
That I lack integrity...
