She got to spend a year with him, and I am so grateful and happy that she did. He will be buried this Thursday at Arlington National Cemetary. Today is Father's Day. Even if your father is not a presence in your life, please give thanks for him. It's a cliche, but life is truly short and tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Cherish those who love you. I am blessed that he and I had a relationship, and I take great solace in that.
