Big Russ is still alive. He lives in Buffalo (where Tim is from) and I believe they just moved him to a assisted living facility. Tim's mother passed about a year or two ago.

One part of me that makes me sad from all of this is that we've lost a lot of good journalists the last few years (Russert, Ed Bradley, Peter Jennings) and we're left with some really crappy ones (not I'm wishing harm on them). I'm still heated on Faux News calling Michelle a "baby mama".
