I remember when Skeeter was simply a character on Nickelodeon's Doug, or a slang term for Mosquitoes. Now, it's a vulgar term.
There's an elementary school next to FIU that has a big mural painted on the facade that reads "Home of the Skeeters" with a big mosquito next to it... pretty amusing for us "young folks."
