Some schools have guaranteed placement
if you maximize your options. Whether or not you
like your options doesn't matter.
For example, everyday you get cut by more and more of your favorite chapters. At Pref you only have the chapter you kind of think would be okay and the chapter you would rather not even visit. You must go to both parties, and rank both chapters, to be guaranteed a bid. Bid day comes and your now, sadly, a member of the latter group. You took your chances and lost.
