As one who has also been considering it, after ten years and close relatives and friends who are members and who I have had the opportunity to discuss the matter with, I still don't believe I have enough information about the organization to comfortably pursue it. My advice, which I follow, would be to get with someone you trust who is a member and who you can talk to, research, and basically learn as much as you can about their history first. There are probably a million different organizations "based on sisterhood, faith, and community service", but this one is far different.
