Granted they are having a small wedding but one of my friends and her fiancee only registered at 2 places--Crate & Barrel and BB&B (they're getting married in Atlanta at the end of the month). She comes from a background like the one you described. I will say from looking at their registries they weren't being too greedy. There were of course a number of things that were too expensive for my pocket but I was able to get them something that was decently affordable for my income (and I could've even gotten them something cheaper than what I did). Non-greedy brides and grooms I agree are hard to come by--but it happens
