That was completely incoherent, btw, so I'm not really sure what you're asking.
But why would I want it to be a secret who our pledges are? We thought highly enough of them to give them a bid, so why not be proud of them.
I think the real reason is that multicultural organizations are still able to get away with a lot more physical hazing than we white greeks can now (for whatever reason) and if people knew who your pledges were and saw them bruised up you'd be screwed.
