The way the media is these days, the best thing to do might be for y'all to just pretend this never happened and further refuse to talk to anyone about it except to say that you weren't involved and that you hope justice is done whatever that is.

The media machine must be fed for it to keep going. You stop feeding it and it moves on to the next story (unless you become important enough for them to start to generate their own conduct, a la Scott Peterson).
