And let me know if you need grad school conceptualization assistance, because I hold a doctorate in Molecular Genetics. I had to interact with many a biochemists and one of my "initiation sisters" (big sister) got her Ph.D. in Chemistry at Berkeley--I have seen how she did her doctorate work. I also know of other Ph.D.'ed sister Chemists. May as well get all the mentors you need...
