I can't speak to UVA specifically; I went to W&L.

One thing I will say is don't hesitate to dress warm. W&L has deferred January recruitment like UVA and it is COLD in the Virginia mountains in the winter. Wear a warm coat and scarf and everything. The sororities will have planned ahead to accommodate coats and such.

Other than that, definitely follow the guidelines on the UVA website or recruitment materials - you'll probably get a mailing in the summer and there will probably be "Meet the Greeks" or informational-type events in the fall semester.
